Home Grown is teaming up with the ‘Love your plot’ campaign to encourage young gardeners to make use of their outdoor space and help them to use plants as part of their design for living.
The first public show this spring was at Alexandra Palace for the ‘Good Life Live’ show and the display of four outdoor living spaces/ garden ideas was well received. Followed up by a weekend at Van Hage Garden Centre it now goes on tour over the UK for several weeks which coincide with the spring planting season for millions of avid gardeners.
The original ‘Love your Plot’ concept of presenting 4 simple layouts for outdoor living and and gardening was displayed and many visitors discussed the possibilities. Parties of school children came to discover the fun to be had in using plants in garden decoration.
This summer there will be a series of roadshow events across the country featuring ‘before and after’ gardens the size of a shipping container. The events will be supported by horticulturalist and broadcaster Chris Collins who will provide tips and demonstrations helping to draw people in. Transported by Westland Horticulture, the inspirational gardens will be visiting garden festival and city centre venues across the country with the first roadshow taking place on 20-22 March at Good Life Live at Alexandra Palace in London.
