This is the second year of the AHDB Bedding and Pot Plant Centre variety trial of coloured poinsettias (for a summary of the first year click here). The event this year will allow delegates to see first-hand a range of new varieties from various breeders/propagators and to participate in the project quality assessments. Along with the trial, there will be opportunities to hear and discuss the policy options for Bemisia, peat-free poinsettia production, carbon footprinting protected ornamentals, the practical requirements of regulated water deficit irrigation on poinsettias and the future R&D needs of the industry. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, but numbers may have to be limited to ensure the safety of delegates and compliance with prevailing Covid event restrictions. |
