Poinsettia Day 2021

BPOA Poinsettia Discussion Group Meeting

‘New varieties and trending topics’

Bridge Farm Group, Clay Lake Nurseries, Clay Lake Bank, Spalding, Lincolnshire PE12 6RN

25 November 2021

This is the second year of the AHDB Bedding and Pot Plant Centre variety trial of coloured poinsettias (for a summary of the first year click here). The event this year will allow delegates to see first-hand a range of new varieties from various breeders/propagators and to participate in the project quality assessments.   Along with the trial, there will be opportunities to hear and discuss the policy options for Bemisia, peat-free poinsettia production, carbon footprinting protected ornamentals, the practical requirements of regulated water deficit irrigation on poinsettias and the future R&D needs of the industry.   Lunch and refreshments will be provided, but numbers may have to be limited to ensure the safety of delegates and compliance with prevailing Covid event restrictions.
